The country of Slovakia is one which has been vastly overlooked by many western tourists for many years, but now this all seems to be changing with the influx of foreign property investors and many new tour companies adding Slovakia to their hot destinations. Reasons for this?

The Main Ski areas of Slovakia can be broken into two sections. The High and Low Tatram mountain ranges, which are located toward the north of Slovakia. Whereas the High Tatra mountains offer the greater altitudes in skiing, it is a common misconception that they therefore offer a better skiing experience because of this, and infact, the largely baron landscape of the High Tatra range means that it can often be less pleasurable then the Low Tatra region which has better tree coverage and the larger resorts in terms of both lifts and skiable area.
